Overview:
Position: Network Administrator
Location: Erie, PA
Experience: 8 - 10 Years
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator with deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies and F5 load balancers. The role involves managing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network devices, and the ability to support mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, manage, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot F5 load balancers to ensure optimal traffic distribution and high availability.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive measures to optimize performance and security.
  • Manage LAN, WAN, and Data Center networks, ensuring uptime and reliability.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewall configurations, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for network issues, escalations, and outages.
  • Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to support business continuity and infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain network documentation including topology diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen network infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer.
  • Strong expertise with Cisco technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and security appliances).
  • Proficiency in F5 load balancer administration (LTM, GTM, iRules, SSL offloading).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, STP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Nagios, etc.).
  • Familiarity with firewall and VPN technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in large-scale enterprise networks.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE preferred).
  • F5 certifications (F5-CA, F5-CTS) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Python, Ansible, or Terraform) for network automation.
  • Exposure to SD-WAN technologies.
