Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 1-2 years of ER experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • 2 weekend shifts required per contract
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Floating expected to like units within scope, based on facility needs
Requirements
  • Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of ER experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in trauma care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, EKG interpretation, and triage
  • Experience managing pediatric and psychiatric emergency cases, IV therapy, and respiratory care
  • Ability to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and orthopedic trauma
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric populations, including trauma, cardiac, psychiatric, and respiratory cases
  • Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE protocols, and emergency medication administration
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; locals not accepted
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this role
  • Former staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Brief onsite orientation provided for floating assignments
