Job Title: Power Electronics Design Engineer
Location: West Fargo, ND

Job Summary:
John Deere is seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineer with experience in designing and validating power electronic systems such as 3-phase inverters and DC/DC converters. The role involves product development from concept to production, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power electronic assemblies (inverters, converters, etc.)
  • Analyze technical requirements and provide engineering solutions
  • Support prototype builds and production implementation
  • Create and execute verification and validation test plans
  • Work with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and supplier teams
  • Improve product cost, quality, and performance

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in power electronics design
  • Electronic circuit design experience
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA designs
  • Experience with 3-phase motor control inverter design
  • Experience in DC/DC converter design
  • Circuit simulation and schematic tools (Mentor Graphics preferred)
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hybrid/electric vehicle systems
  • Experience designing for harsh environments
  • Knowledge of MathCAD

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Power Electronics Engineering or related field
