Job description

Position Title: Electrical Project Manager
A stable, growing electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead complex commercial projects from planning through completion. This hands-on role will manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, field coordination, change orders, vendor negotiations, and overall project performance while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and profitably. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented electrical construction professional who builds strong relationships, takes ownership, and is willing to step into the field to get the job done.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full scope of electrical construction projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to $40 million
• Oversee project budgets, costs, schedules, quality standards, and financial performance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Develop strong working relationships with field personnel and visit local project sites several times per week
• Coordinate labor, materials, purchasing, subcontractors, and project resources
• Partner with the purchasing manager to negotiate orders with vendors and subcontractors
• Review project risks, change requests, billing requirements, and contract deliverables
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure deadlines do not fall through the cracks
• Manage multiple active projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy
• Support projects across healthcare, higher education, light industrial, and automotive environments
• Resolve project challenges quickly through clear communication, sound judgment, and hands-on leadership
Requirements:
• 5-8 years of project management experience in electrical construction
• Experience working for an electrical contractor
• Strong budgeting, cost-control, and project scheduling experience
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and demanding workloads
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week in Dexter or Southfield, Michigan
• Ability to travel to project sites within approximately 60 miles several times per week
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
