Learn more about why we are one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas.Job Summary The IT Software Developer- Associate will research, design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software systems to meet client requirements. Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions when appropriate • Analyze new programming requests and develop software solutions with minimal assistance. • Responsible for developing solutions to programming requests approved by IT Steering Committee and IT management. • Route all changes to the production environment through the IT change control process • Confirm project requirements by reviewing the client’s user story and desired output while ensuring that the design and build are completed successfully, clearly documented and tested while leveraging best practices. • Field incoming tickets and work to resolve issues, or if unable to resolve issue, escalate appropriately. • Communicates status updates of tasks, project plans, risk points and milestones to appropriate team members and management in a meaningful and timely fashion. Education and Experience • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree highly recommended) • +4 years of relevant work experience Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations • ITIL Foundations or professional certification preferred Skills and Abilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally • Display aptitude in applying programming techniques to solve business needs • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving/resolution skills Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position will interact with both clinical and non-clinical departments within UMC Health System and TTUHSC to gather requirements, validate and resolve issues relating to the report and/or data analysis. Physical Capabilities Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time.
