Job description

We are seeking a CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator to join our team! You will help oversee operational activities and ensure excellent quality control. The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up jobs on the CNC Lathe for metal and plastic components with tight tolerances. The position requires the individual to be able to take the program provided, set-up the machine, create tooling layouts and meet production set-up and run times.
Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience setting up Lathe Machines
  • Must be able to effectively install tooling, set-up unsupervised within the required set-up and run times for each operation
  • Capable of changing tools and editing programs for increased efficiency
  • Capable of using appropriate measuring tools and equipment
  • Capable of choosing appropriate cutting tools, machine fixture clamps and soft jaws
  • Must be able to read, interpret and work from engineering prints, drawings and sketches
  • Must be able to inspect and be responsible for the quality of your own work

Qualifications:

  • Must feel comfortable with fast-paced environment and frequent changeovers
  • Work effectively with no minimal to no supervision
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
