Job description

Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our receiving and distribution team. The role involves operating various types of forklifts, including standup, sit-down, and turret trucks. You may be assigned to different tasks within this area based on business demands and are expected to operate material handling equipment primarily the standup/man up forklift. This position requires labeling and ensuring proper tags on inventory, counting inventory on the warehouse floor, verifying quantities, and using computers for basic data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate standup/man up forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Ensure proper labeling and tagging of inventory.
  • Count and verify quantities of inventory on the warehouse floor.
  • Perform data entry using a computer for inventory tracking.
  • Work with printed pick lists for parts verification on order pickers.
  • Maintain inventory control and accuracy in kitting, packing, shipping, and receiving.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of previous forklift experience.
  • Operated forklifts in the last 5 years.
  • Ability to perform basic navigation and data entry on a computer.
  • Comfortable operating forklifts and electric carts in a warehouse setting.
  • Comfortable working at heights and wearing safety harnesses.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and lift to count and locate products.
  • Strong attendance record in previous roles.
  • Commitment to safety in forklift operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating a standup/man up forklift within the last 5 years.

Work Environment

Expect a dynamic warehouse setting with an initial training period of 1-3 weeks on days. A 50+ hour work week is standard, including mandatory overtime with 10-hour days and up to two Saturdays a month. Sundays offer voluntary overtime. Enjoy a 10-minute break every 2 hours and a 20-minute paid lunch. Candidates must be open to all overtime requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
