What is a contract courseware developer?

A Contract Courseware Developer is a professional who designs, develops, and delivers educational materials or training programs on a contractual basis. These materials can include online courses, instructional guides, multimedia content, and assessments, typically tailored to the needs of organizations or educational institutions. Contract Courseware Developers often work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and instructional effectiveness. Their work is usually project-based and may involve adapting content for different learning platforms or audiences.

To thrive as a Contract Courseware Developer, you need expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and subject matter knowledge, often supported by a degree in education or a related field. Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and learning management systems (LMS) is typically required.
