Job description

smartdept. is searching for a Copywriter for a marketing services client. The ideal candidate will come with 2+ years of experience. This is a fully remote, ongoing as-needed contract opportunity.
This is a straightforward execution role - the strategy is already set. The client needs a reliable writer they can hand a brief to and trust to come back with clean, accurate, on-brand copy. Someone who's fast, detail-oriented, and doesn't need a lot of hand-holding. Healthcare, medical device, or regulated product experience is a must.
What You'll Do:
  • Write and copy edit marketing content based on provided strategy and briefs
  • Produce clear, accurate copy for product materials, web content, sales collateral, and campaign assets
  • Apply a copy editing eye to existing content - catching errors, tightening language, and ensuring consistency
  • Follow brand voice guidelines and adapt tone appropriately across formats
  • Turn around assignments quickly with minimal revisions

What You'll Need:
Education/Experience:
  • 2+ years of copywriting and/or copy editing experience required
  • Healthcare, medical device, or regulated product industry experience required
  • Experience writing for medical or clinical audiences (patients, providers, or HCPs) required

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with medical device or diagnostic product marketing
  • Familiarity with oncology, surgical, or interventional radiology content
  • Background in both B2B and patient-facing healthcare copy
