Job description

Integration Coordinator/ Field Technician
Location: Akron, OH
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (12-Month Contract)
Schedule: Full-Time
Travel: Project-based travel as required

PTS Advance is seeking an experienced Integration Coordinator to support the installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of communications and automation systems for critical infrastructure projects. This role is based in Akron, Ohio, and offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while building a long-term career with a growing organization.
Per Diem: Non-local candidates will be eligible for a daily per diem of $140/day, paid 7 days per week, subject to project and company travel policies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site assessments and field evaluations to verify project readiness and installation requirements.
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic, copper, and low-voltage communication cabling systems.
  • Mount, connect, and configure communications, networking, and automation equipment in rack-mounted and wall-mounted environments.
  • Perform cable certification, continuity testing, signal tracing, loopback testing, and other diagnostic procedures using industry-standard tools.
  • Troubleshoot network devices, communication systems, and field equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Support system commissioning, startup, and functional testing activities.
  • Energize equipment, load base configurations, and verify successful device operation.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, installation records, and as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and customer representatives to ensure successful project execution.
  • Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Travel to project locations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • Associate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 12+ years of applicable field experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in mission-critical environments such as utilities, telecommunications, industrial facilities, transportation systems, military installations, or data centers.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems, structured cabling, network infrastructure, device installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Working knowledge of communication networks, automation systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with DC power systems is highly preferred.
Required Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation documents.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
