Job Title: CNC Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating CNC machines and manual vertical mills to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will set up, run, and monitor multiple machines, ensure parts meet precise specifications, and contribute to consistent, efficient production.
Responsibilities
- Load and operate CNC machines and manual vertical mills to produce components according to specifications.
- Use different types of CNC controllers, including Fanuc and Haas, to run production programs accurately.
- Run multiple machines at once while maintaining consistent quality and throughput.
- Monitor, measure, and report on production performance to ensure targets and quality standards are met.
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformity to quality and dimensional requirements.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines using hand tools.
- Fix or repair fixtures and tooling as needed to maintain proper setup and machine performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of machines and processes to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
- Support routine maintenance and care of CNC equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with machine operation in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- CNC operation experience, including loading, running, and monitoring CNC machines.
- Ability to operate manual vertical mills safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas CNC controllers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies.
- Capability to run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work first or second shift and to work overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- G-code programming experience is a plus.
- Experience with CNC setup and basic maintenance or repair is beneficial.
- Exposure to Haas mills, Fanuc controls, and CNC Swiss machines is an advantage.
- Troubleshooting skills for CNC machine operation and process issues.
- Comfort working with G-code and understanding CNC machine language.

Work Environment
This is a shop-floor manufacturing environment with CNC machines and manual vertical mills in regular use. The role offers two shifts: first shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and second shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You must be open to working overtime as production needs require. You will work around industrial equipment, follow standard safety practices, and use hand tools, fixtures, and precision measuring instruments throughout the shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Henrietta, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
