The primary function of this role will be supporting the commercial/agricultural (hereafter referred as Commercial) lending function through evaluation of large, complex new loan proposals as well as the monitoring of the existing commercial loan portfolio, including but not limited to financial, cash flow, sensitivity and industry analysis to assess risks in proposed new loans and the existing commercial and agricultural portfolios. Other day-to-day functions may include:Provide guidance to lender(s) on relevant information and documentation to be gathered from customers.Evaluates and analyzes financial information and financial statements.Prepares written analysis of proposed commercial loans identifying the risks and making recommendations for risk ratings on large, more complete loan requests.Prepares written analysis constituting annual review of loans and lines of credit in existing commercial portfolio based upon established thresholds and formats to identify changes period to period and validate risk rating.Support lender(s) with their presentation of all such credits to loan committee.Recommends and supports accurate risk ratings for credits.Prepares commitment letters.Monitors customer compliance with financial reporting requirements and financial performance covenants.Analyzes and performs sensitivity analysis and global cash flow analysis as required.Communicates with lender(s) and with customers accountants and attorneys, as necessary.Maintains working knowledge of legal requirement for properly documenting complex loans, perfecting security interests, and necessary documentation for entering binding loan contracts.Performs pricing analysis (use of pricing model).Performs periodic management reporting as required.Offers suggestions and recommendations to improve credit analysis process.Ensures credits comply with all credit administration policies, procedures, processes, loan approval requirements and banking regulations.Undertake any credit related project to monitor the portfolio and provides assistance to other departments of the bank, as assigned by management.Willingness to participate in all other projects as assigned by management.Experience:Qualified candidates should have three to five years of similar or related experience. Candidates should also have a college degree in accounting or a business-related field or have demonstrated equivalent work experience in commercial lending (i.e. such as a loan officer, bank examiner, or similar vocation). A strong working knowledge of both commercial and agricultural credit as well as lending practices is a must. Must also be proficient in evaluating and interpreting financial statements and performing cash flow analysis. Professionalism, excellent communication, computer and problem-solving skills are also needed for this role. Next Steps:
