Job description

General Cleaner

We are seeking a Part-Time General Cleaner to clean and maintain an office building in the West Madison area. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, able to work independently, and comfortable arming and disarming the building alarm system.

Job SummaryThe General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas by performing a variety of cleaning tasks. Candidates must be flexible and willing to complete all duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dust desks, cabinet tops, partitions, and other surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Sweep and mop hard-surface floors.
  • Vacuum floors using upright vacuums and/or backpack vacuums.
  • Spot clean carpets as needed.
  • Clean glass surfaces, including windows and doors.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
  • Restock restroom supplies to ensure they remain fully stocked.
  • Polish metal fixtures and other surfaces as needed.
  • Perform additional cleaning duties or work in different assigned areas as directed by the supervisor or based on customer needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
