Where You Will Work

Looking to live in a small town with big opportunities? Our Bagdad operations in Arizona offers housing at a subsidized rate, a family‑friendly atmosphere and numerous amenities including an aquatic center, golf course and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world’s first commercial‑scale concentrate leach processing facility, as well as one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world. What You Will Do
  • Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects.
  • Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansions, or modifications.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
  • Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
  • May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • May represent the site on company‑sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in Engineering or related field.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Civil Engineering applications, which could include design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
  • Skill in managing large/complex Engineering projects.
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards.
  • Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Experience with cost estimating for civil projects, project scheduling and project controls.
  • Experience using engineering software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GoldSim), programming languages.
  • Experience working in Mining environment and/or residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with project financials, including S‑curves and AFEs.
  • Skills in developing, reviewing, Mechanical and electrical drawings.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000-$145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors.
