Job description

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Scottsdale, AZ office starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August 2027.
The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and construction managers with civil engineering projects in the following areas:
  • Completing airfield design projects
  • Performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
  • Preparing project plans in AutoCAD
  • Assisting with project report preparation
  • Technical research and writing
  • May assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey work
  • Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver's license and occasional travel will be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by their start date.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
  • Understanding of basic civil engineering design concepts
  • Knowledge of airport planning and/or design
  • Civil/survey engineering coursework relevant to the position
