The Opportunity

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, entitlement, and construction of land development and infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs and solutions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

This position may be based in either of our growing offices:

  • Grand Rapids, MI
  • Scottsdale, AZ

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for land development and civil engineering projects, including site development, roadways, drainage, and utilities.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce detailed drawings, models, and layouts that meet project requirements.
  • Collect and analyze survey data, zoning information, utility records, and jurisdictional codes to inform project planning and design.
  • Assist in technical reports, calculations, and design documentation for permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and interpret engineering plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, correspondence, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to obtain project approvals and permits.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to clarify design requirements and address inquiries.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and occasional site visits to support project progress.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE licensure is a plus.
  • 3+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally in land development or infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design fundamentals.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Why Paradigm?

We know you work hard, so we make sure you’re supported and valued:

  • Competitive salary and growth opportunities
  • Medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, EAP, life, and disability coverage
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Parental leave and flexible work schedules
  • Monthly team events — from bowling and golf outings to happy hours and our annual lunch club where teams explore and rate local restaurants
  • A collaborative, team-focused culture that values your growth and contributions
