As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of enhancing patient wellbeing and delivering exceptional mental health services in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans
  • Manage medication regimens and monitor patient progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions
  • Participate in case management and discharge planning
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in psychiatry
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry
  • Valid medical license in the state of practice
  • Previous experience in psychiatric care preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Beeper Call: 2 nights per week, 1 weekend per month

Setting: 27-bed inpatient psychiatry unit

Patient Census: 10-14 per day

Patient Population: Adults only, 18+

Duties: Bread & butter psychiatry, consults

Will work with residents

NP support available

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
