Contract Physical Therapist – Pediatric Health Choice (PPEC)

Pediatric Health Choice is a leading Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center dedicated to improving the lives of medically fragile and developmentally delayed children. We provide a safe, supportive environment where children receive skilled nursing care, therapies, and education—offering families peace of mind and children the opportunity to thrive.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Contract Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team.


Location: Pediatric Health Choice, Baton Rouge, LA
Employment Type: Contract | Flexible Schedule
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Daytime Hours Only
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate | W-9 Contractor


Position Overview

As a Contract Physical Therapist at Pediatric Health Choice, you will work hands-on with children to assess, plan, and implement individualized physical therapy services that promote mobility, function, and developmental progress. You’ll collaborate with nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and families to support each child’s holistic growth and health.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations for pediatric patients with complex medical and developmental needs

  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans to support gross motor development and functional mobility

  • Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate therapy sessions

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with PPEC and state regulations

  • Educate and support families regarding therapeutic goals, home exercise programs, and mobility strategies

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during care planning and progress reviews

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, clinical standards, and ethical practices


Qualifications

  • Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist

  • Prefer 1 year of pediatric experience (PPEC, early intervention, or medically fragile population experience preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Current CPR certification and ability to pass a Level II background screening
