Pay rate $24/hr W2
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Support current on-air operations team during the division's major systems migration in 2026. This support would include, but not limited to, programming quality control, commercial rehearsals, event preparation, shadowing on-air programming, monitoring on-air programming, and break support for other MCO's.
Maintain and manipulate on-air playlists, execute program/commercial/marketing changes, and support live-event and contingency workflows using cutting-edge software like SNELL Morpheus and Amagi.
Take ownership of commercial integration, ensuring flawless rolling of commercial breaks during both taped and live programming.
Contributing to the team which collectively monitors and maintains 150+ channel streams, ensuring continuous availability and identifying any inconsistencies with keen attention to detail.
Guarantee the continuity of programming by meticulously confirming the readiness of every piece of material for on-air playout.
Act as the last line of defense for internal clients and stations, swiftly responding to any on-air discrepancies with situational awareness and quick decision-making skills.
Protect our airwaves by meticulously simulating the viewer experience, constantly checking for proper audio, video, captioning, and picture quality.
Collaborate with Operation Supervisors and work as a cohesive team to promptly recover from any on-air discrepancies.
Prompt and clear verbal communication with partner production teams to facilitate and execute requested changes to automation playlists.
Perform all other duties to support the success of the Network Operations Center as assigned by manager and follow company rules and policies
Basic Qualifications:
A High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
Desired Characteristics:
Prior professional experience working in master control or a production control room is highly desirable, but not required.
The ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Ability to adapt to new and changing workflows and software implementations
An acute attention to detail and a knack for cross-referencing and identifying inconsistencies, coupled with the ability to anticipate and report potential issues and concerns proactively.
Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience working collaboratively with others, who is always respectful and maintains a positive attitude
A punctual, hardworking, disciplined, and dependable individual
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a definite plus
Position will have an end date after six months, but does have the opportunity to migrate into a full-time Master Control Operator role if one is available.
