Job description

Now Hiring: Lead Paint Supervisors and Abatement Workers – Contract Roles (NYC)
Are you certified in lead-based paint abatement or inspection? Join our team for ongoing contract-based projects across the five boroughs of NYC.
We’re actively seeking qualified professionals for the following roles:
1. Lead Abatement Workers
Avg annual: $52,573 (~$25/hr)
Range: $34,031–$75,034/year ($16–$36/hr)
Responsibilities:
Perform lead paint removal and abatement in accordance with NYC DOHMH, EPA, and HUD regulations
Use approved methods: wet scraping, HEPA vacuuming, enclosure, encapsulation
Set up and maintain containment zones
Use and maintain proper PPE
Ensure jobsite cleanliness and safety
Requirements:
Valid EPA Lead Abatement Worker Certification
NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Card – 40 Hours
Knowledge of Local Law 1 of 2004 and HUD Guidelines
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
2. Lead Abatement Supervisors
Entry–expert levels:
Entry: ~$55k
1–2 yrs: ~$55.4k
2–4 yrs: ~$56.3k
5–8 yrs: ~$57.5k
8+ yrs: ~$59.0k
Responsibilities:
Supervise field crews and ensure work complies with city, state, and federal regulations
Oversee containment setup, air monitoring, and worker safety
Maintain project logs, daily reports, and worker sign-ins
Communicate with project managers and regulatory agencies
Conduct toolbox talks and training on-site
Requirements
Valid EPA Lead Abatement Supervisor Certification
At least 2 years of supervisory experience in lead abatement
Strong knowledge of NYC Local Laws, EPA RRP Rule, and HUD requirements
SST Card (40 Hours) + OSHA 30 required
3. Lead-Based Paint Inspectors / Risk Assessors
Avg: $30.89/hr (~$64,243/year)
Range: $13.22–$59.86/hr
Responsibilities:
Conduct XRF inspections, dust wipe sampling, and visual assessments
Prepare reports and risk assessments for residential and commercial properties
Provide clearance testing after abatement
Follow EPA, HUD, and NYC HPD protocols
Requirements:
Valid EPA Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor Certification
NYC HPD knowledge preferred
Experience using XRF analyzers
Strong report-writing and communication skills
Must carry own insurance or be willing to work under 1099
