We are currently recruiting for this position, which offers $100,000 - $125,000. This position qualifies for participation in our annual employee bonus program.

GS1 US is continuing a large-scale technology transformation initiative. This includes business process optimization, platform modernization, and implementation of next-generation cloud-based systems that power internal operations and core customer-facing services. These efforts support our role in providing unique identification solutions that drive value across e-commerce and traditional POS channels.

As a Cloud Engineer on the Technology team, you will play a key role in the operation, maintenance, and evolution of our cloud and hybrid environments. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of GS1 US systems. This role requires hands-on experience managing Azure resources, developing and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, and contributing to system stability, automation, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure services including VMs, App Services, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, and Virtual Networks.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep templates for repeatable and consistent provisioning of Azure resources.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, BetterStack and Uptrends.
  • Deploy and maintain internal and external applications, ensuring secure integration with identity services such as Active Directory and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies in cloud environments.
  • Maintain and optimize both cloud and on-premises network infrastructure, including secure interconnectivity between physical sites and Azure.
  • Support and enhance onsite infrastructure including networking, Wi-Fi, and physical security systems.
  • Provide administration and operational support for Microsoft 365 services
  • Assist in managing security tools and configurations, including endpoint protection and compliance monitoring solutions.
  • Apply configuration management, security baselines, and best practices across cloud resources and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis of infrastructure incidents; collaborate with DevOps and development teams to resolve service-impacting issues.
  • Provide after-hours and on-call support for alerts, incidents, and critical deployments.
  • Serve as Tier 2 infrastructure escalation support for application teams and DevOps pipelines.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT operations, or systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS) and cloud-native operations.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or ARM templates.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), deployment pipelines, and change management practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification or similar strongly preferred.
  • Scripting knowledge using PowerShell or other automation languages.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, DNS, routing, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments.
