About the Role
We are looking for a Sr. Category Manager - Facility Services to lead strategic sourcing activities across key service lines including janitorial, waste management, maintenance, and food services. In this role, you will drive initiatives to reduce Total Cost of Ownership for Amazon's building operations while maintaining best-in-class service delivery.
You will develop and execute category sourcing strategies, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable savings, improve productivity, and create long-term value across the Facility Services portfolio.
Key job responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies in partnership with internal customers, ensuring a unified approach that aligns with business objectives and annual budget processes
• Build and manage a prioritized portfolio of sourcing initiatives based on impact, complexity, and implementation feasibility in collaboration with business partners
• Champion standards, process improvements, and new tools to advance Amazon's procurement capabilities
Sourcing & Negotiation
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including scope development, project management, communication plans, and contract awards
• Negotiate and re-negotiate complex agreements, statements of work, RFIs, and RFPs to secure optimal outcomes for pricing, service, and quality
• Partner with legal teams and business unit stakeholders to develop negotiation strategies for the most complex vendor relationships
• Develop and qualify alternative sources of supply to ensure competitive tension across the supply base
Cost Management & Value Delivery
• Deliver annual cost savings and value targets aligned with category goals and budget processes
• Design, implement, and measure cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs across the category
• Provide current pricing intelligence and forecasting inputs to support business planning on a rolling 12-month basis
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
• Earn the trust of key stakeholders to drive alignment and cross-functional collaboration
• Develop strategic supplier relationships and identify partnership opportunities that deliver long-term value
• Lead supplier business reviews, monitor performance against contractual terms, and drive resolution of complex issues through effective negotiation
• Provide subject matter expertise in sourcing and procurement to internal teams and leadership
Risk Mitigation & Governance
• Maintain full visibility of category spend by site and supplier, including sole/single/dual/multiple source classification
• Identify supply chain risks and ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place, including backup suppliers, alternative production sites, consignment arrangements, and inventory strategies
• Communicate risk exposure to stakeholders and execute mitigation recommendations
• Maintain and govern the approved supplier list by category and site in accordance with design specifications
Reporting & Metrics
• Define and report on key metrics that measure supply effectiveness, cost performance, and category health
• Track and communicate progress against savings targets, supplier performance, and strategic milestones
Travel Requirement
This role requires up to 30% travel.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
