Job Summary
The Division of Continuing Education seeks and employs adjunct faculty throughout the year for instructional roles in Gainesville, Denton, Champions Circle, Corinth, Flower Mound, Bowie, and Graham.
Teach college courses in electrical theory, series and parallel circuits, combination of series parallel and parallel series circuits. Electric motors and transformers, single and three phase equipment, single and three phase drives, Programmable logic controllers, and the use of voltmeters, ohmmeters, capacitance meters, and amp meters. Candidate must work well in a team environment and communicate effectively in an instructional setting, be a self-starter, be willing to work with a flexible schedule. Travel may be required to various locations.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the various roles in the electrical career field
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the electrical environment and hazards associated with it
  • Identify and use equipment utilized in the field
  • Practice safety principles in the handling of materials and operating of equipment
  • Practice quality control principles
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department.

Required Education
Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or related discipline and three years' work experience in the area of assigned instruction.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences

Preferred Skills & Abilities
Required Experience
Three years' experience in the electrical industry including electric motors, transformers, and programmable logic controllers. Individuals with 8 or more years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Work experience must be confirmed by letter(s) from employer(s).
Preferred Experience
4+ years' experience in the electrical industry
Community College and or Public School teaching experience
Online curriculum development and online teaching experience
