Job description

Marketing Manager, Events & Content

 Location: Chicago/Remote

About Toro TMS

We are Toro TMS, a growth-stage startup building the modern operating system for trucking. Our mission is to deliver best-in-class, end-to-end transportation management software (TMS) for bulk commodity haulers.

About the Role

As our Events & Content Marketing Manager, you will own how Toro shows up in the market, in the industry, and online. You'll own Toro's full event strategy: from industry conferences to webinars to community dinners.

This hybrid role will also be responsible for our content strategy: creating the written, video, and social content that fuels our demand channels, managing our organic social channels, and managing the production relationships that bring it all to life.

This is a creative, high-ownership role for someone who is equally comfortable writing a customer story, staffing a booth at a conference, and filming a video testimonial with a customer in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Toro's end-to-end event marketing strategy, including trade shows, industry conferences, customer events, field marketing, and virtual/hybrid formats.
  • Build and manage the annual events calendar, prioritizing high-impact opportunities aligned to pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Lead all event logistics: venue sourcing, vendor management, booth design, swag, staffing, and on-site execution.
  • Track and report on event performance metrics (pipeline influenced, leads generated, cost per opportunity, ROI) and use data to optimize the program.
  • Own Toro's content calendar: planning and producing written content (blog posts, customer stories, case studies, podcast material) that supports demand generation and brand storytelling.
  • Manage customer story content across formats: written, video, and social, working closely with customers and our production agency to capture and share stories.
  • Own Toro's organic social presence - developing a consistent publishing cadence that reflects our brand voice and builds awareness in our target markets.

Skills / Experience

  • 4+ years of event marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, logistics, supply chain, or a high-growth startup
  • Proven track record owning events end-to-end - from strategy through post-event reporting
  • Comfortable owning a social media presence and building an organic content program from the ground up.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience partnering with Sales teams to align event and content programming with pipeline goals
  • Data-driven mindset: comfortable defining success metrics, pulling reports, and communicating event ROI
  • Excellent communicator - written, verbal, and cross-functional
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel for on-site event execution

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 401(k) managed by Empower
