Salamander Designs is seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Senior Director of Marketing to lead the companys daily marketing. The company has been a market leader for 35 years and markets to both B2B (commercial AV integrators, dealers, architects, enterprise, and the companys partners) and B2C (premium residential consumers) channels, and the role is responsible for both. This is a player-coach role focused on hands-on execution, which will report directly to the President, who sets overall company strategy and direction.
Job Summary
The Sr. Marketing Director will own day-to-day marketing communications, lead and demand generation, product marketing, B2B channel marketing, B2C consumer marketing, customer experiences, and marketing team leadership for Salamander Designs. The role is execution-driven, with the President providing strategic direction. It combines hands-on ownership across digital, content, product launches, trade show programs, press, and direct-to-consumer growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manages in-house Creative and Technical Marketing Director, including the Creative and Technical Marketing Director support and production team, including one outside contractor.
  • Manages the relationship with the companys retained outside digital/content agency,
  • Provides timely performance feedback and handles hiring decisions and team development in accordance with company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities
Demand Generation & Digital Marketing
  • Develops and executes integrated demand generation across digital platforms including SEO, SEM, paid and organic social, website, email, and marketing automation spanning both B2B and B2C, leveraging the outside agency for paid advertising.
  • Partners with the sales team to set lead and revenue goals, then builds and runs campaigns to achieve them.
  • Owns conversion rate optimization and continuous improvement of the company website, including chat for leads, direct-to-consumer product configuration and future commerce experiences.
  • Personally fluent in marketing automation, analytics, and performance reporting; operates within the companys designated platforms for CRM, digital assets, and project management.

B2C Consumer Marketing
  • Develops and executes B2C marketing for the premium residential consumer, including digital advertising, social media, influencer engagement, and email.
  • Builds the direct-to-consumer funnel, including audience growth, segmentation, lifecycle programs, and retention.
  • Manages brand presence and posts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

Product Marketing & Launches
  • Develops positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for new products, including the launch calendar in coordination with product development, engineering, and sales.
  • Creates sales enablement assets including one-pagers, product literature, training materials, webinars, and presentation tools.
  • Ensures dealer, rep, integrator, and press awareness of new products and their applications.
  • Ensures partners and partner portals are updated.

B2B Channel & Sales Enablement
  • Develops and executes marketing programs for the companys dealer, rep, and integrator network across both markets.
  • Builds co-marketing tools, training content, and partner communications that help channel partners sell more Salamander products.
  • Keeps external portals updated and collaborates with sales to ensure resellers are updated with Salamander brand, products, pricing and related.
  • Leads all press communications, media relationships, award submissions, and public relations efforts to elevate brand visibility and industry recognition.

Brand, Content & Writing
  • Partners with the Creative and Technical Marketing Director to maintain brand standards and creative direction across all marketing assets.
  • Create and oversee operations and performs copywriting across all segments, including blog posts, website, case studies, video scripts, product descriptions, email copy, and other written assets sometimes by personal creation and, when relevant, in collaboration with the outside agency.
  • Ensures consistency of voice, design, and quality across all customer-facing materials.

Trade Shows & Events
  • Owns trade show delivery and ROI for CEDIA, InfoComm, ISE, and other events, including booth design, messaging, pre-show outreach, in-show activation, and post-show follow-up.
  • Manages event budgets and partner relationships.

Analytics, Reporting & Budget
  • Reports monthly on marketing performance, pipeline contribution, and campaign results; provides quarterly business reviews to the President.
  • Collaborates with the Creative and Technical Marketing Director for reporting, analysis, and optimization.
  • Manages the marketing budget and ensures spend aligns with company priorities.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including personal content creation capability.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles across both B2B and B2C environments, including channel marketing and direct-to-consumer programs.
  • Demonstrated experience marketing in commercial AV, premium manufacturing, design-driven categories, or premium consumer goods.
  • Hands-on fluency with HubSpot (preferred), Google Analytics, Google Ads, Social Media, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and SEO tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage agencies, press relations, contractors, and team members with strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong team-player attitude with ability to work across multiple teams to drive projects to conclusion.
  • Understanding and experience with current and future ai tools to scale efficiencies and reduce redundant work while maintaining the personal voice of Salamander Designs.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret marketing data. Fluency with current and emerging AI tools to enhance workflows and team efficiency.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field required.
  • 8 to 12 years of progressive marketing experience with demonstrated B2B and B2C expertise.
  • Direct experience in demand generation, product marketing, channel marketing, and direct-to-consumer marketing.
  • Prior experience managing retained marketing agencies.
  • Experience in commercial and residential AV, premium furniture, building products, and / or premium consumer goods strongly preferred.

Location, Travel & Compensation
  • Hybrid role with regular travel to the companys Bloomfield, CT headquarters. Trade show and customer-site travel expected throughout the year.
  • Salary to be based upon experience, plus annual bonus tied to company and marketing performance. Full benefits package.
