Content Risk Reviewer information
What is the difference between Content Risk Reviewer vs Content Moderator?
| Aspect | Content Risk Reviewer | Content Moderator |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Typically requires familiarity with content policies, risk assessment, and sometimes certifications in compliance or content review | Often requires knowledge of platform policies, communication skills, and sometimes basic certifications in social media or content management |
| Work Environment | Usually in office or remote settings, analyzing flagged content for potential risks or violations | Primarily in social media, forums, or online platforms, monitoring live or flagged content |
| Employer & Industry | Tech companies, social media platforms, online marketplaces | Social media companies, online forums, content sharing platforms |
While both roles involve reviewing online content, Content Risk Reviewers focus on assessing potential risks and compliance issues, whereas Content Moderators primarily enforce platform policies by removing or flagging inappropriate content. The roles often overlap but differ in scope and focus.

- Collaborate with practice and industry groups to identify opportunities to standardize work product, create practice playbooks, improve matter execution, and reduce duplicative effort.

Content, Precedent, and Knowledge Asset Development
- Lead the KM team in content creation and development across practice and industry groups, including legislative updates, case law updates, industry/practice trends, and legal analysis.
- Ensure practice and industry group intranet content is current, accurate, well organized, and useful to attorneys and allied professionals.

- Accountable for review, editing, and contributions to content generated by other firm resources, including marketing and business development, attorney training and development, and other firm functions, as it relates to specific industries and practices.
- Responsible for ensuring practice and industry group leadership are continually informed of strategic shifts and evolutions in practice approach, strategy, and execution.
AI, Legal Technology, and Knowledge Intelligence
- Partner with the Innovation Team, IT, Practice Support Operations, and firm leaders to help attorneys adopt new technologies through practice and industry group use cases and workflows.
- Support the development of AI-ready knowledge assets by promoting quality, consistency, source reliability, and appropriate governance of reusable legal content.
- Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise technology investments, automation, search, and knowledge tools at the practice and industry group level.
- Help translate attorney needs into practical technology, workflow, training, and content solutions that improve speed, consistency, and quality in legal service delivery.
- Partner with central firm resources and colleagues to ensure effective use and leverage of firm-wide and practice-specific tools, processes, and technologies.
Knowledge Governance, Quality, and Risk Alignment
- Establish and reinforce standards for the creation, classification, review, maintenance, retirement, and appropriate use of knowledge assets.
- Help ensure knowledge resources are accurate, current, well sourced, and aligned with applicable confidentiality, ethical, information governance, and firm risk expectations.
- Coordinate with relevant firm functions, including IT, Innovation, Marketing, Communications, Talent, Practice Support Operations, and General Counsel stakeholders, to support broader firm initiatives and promote consistent knowledge practices.
- Develop practical quality-control processes so content owners, KMAs, and practice leaders can maintain high-value resources over time.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Effectively manage and lead the KMA Team, providing direction, mentorship, coaching, and oversight.
- Ensure the development of strategic goals, performance expectations, and alignment of the team with practice, industry, and firmwide priorities.
- Create and maintain a collaborative, service-oriented, and high-performance culture within the team and among the practice and industry groups.
- Serve as a liaison between the team and other departments.
- Ensure strong working relationships between the team and the Practice Support Operations team and other stakeholders that support attorney effectiveness.
Metrics, Impact, and Continuous Improvement
- Develop key performance indicators for the team and monitor and report on the impact of KMA work for the firm and its clients to firm leadership.
- Measure adoption, utilization, quality, and business impact of knowledge resources, practice tools, technology initiatives, and KMA-supported programs.
- Use data and feedback to recommend improvements to knowledge resources, attorney-facing tools, workflows, content strategy, training, and practice group support models.
- Identify repeatable opportunities to increase attorney productivity, improve knowledge reuse, support onboarding and lateral integration, and enhance consistency in service delivery.
