About HR Ratings

HR Ratings is a leading Latin American credit rating agency and a U.S. SEC-registered NRSRO specializing in corporate, financial institution, and public finance ratings. As part of its international expansion, the firm is actively building its U.S. analytical platform from its Miami office. The team focuses on delivering high-quality, independent credit analysis for U.S.-based entities, with particular relevance in the private debt market. Analysts joining the platform have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully in a growing environment with broad exposure and real analytical responsibility from an early stage.

The Role

We are seeking analytically driven, high-potential professionals who want to build a strong foundation in credit analysis and develop a career in ratings. This role is ideal for candidates with solid academic preparation, strong financial fundamentals and a genuine interest in credit risk, capital markets and corporate analysis. The position provides early exposure to real rating work, internal Credit Committees, analytical writing, interaction with issuers and close collaboration with senior team members in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze the creditworthiness of U.S. corporate issuers using fundamental credit analysis frameworks.
  • Evaluate financial statements, capital structures, liquidity profiles, leverage metrics and debt obligations.
  • Develop, maintain and refine financial models in Excel to support analytical conclusions and rating decisions.
  • Perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis, incorporating financial performance, sector dynamics, business profile and structural considerations.
  • Assess and organize relevant information used in the rating process, including issuer data, market developments and transaction-specific details.
  • Participate in internal Credit Committees and contribute to the discussion of rating proposals.
  • Support industry research projects, analytical publications and the development of relevant written materials.
  • Maintain assigned analytical coverage and support relationship management with issuers as needed.
  • Apply and interpret HR Ratings methodologies in day-to-day analytical work.
  • Stay current on sector developments, market trends, economic conditions and other factors that may affect credit quality.

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 02 years of relevant experience, including internships or full-time experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, capital markets, banking, equity research or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, financial fundamentals and core credit concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure information and reach clear conclusions.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail; this role requires frequent technical writing.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Intellectual curiosity, initiative and a genuine interest in staying informed on market and sector developments.
  • Fluency in English is required; Spanish is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to credit analysis, investment banking, debt markets, equity research or financial institutions.
  • Financial modeling skills in Excel.
  • Interest in corporate credit, private debt and analytical research.
  • The CFA designation or progress toward it is a plus; it is preferred, but not required.

Core Competencies

  • Credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
  • Structured thinking and sound analytical judgment.
  • Technical writing and communication clarity.
  • Continuous learning mindset and curiosity about industries, issuers and market conditions.
  • Collaboration, professionalism and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Why Join HR Ratings

  • Early responsibility and exposure to real rating decisions and committee discussions.
  • Opportunity to help build the U.S. platform of an international rating agency from Miami.
  • Direct interaction with senior analysts and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accelerated learning curve and broad analytical exposure compared with larger organizations.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Culture focused on excellence, continuous learning, professional growth and openness to new ideas.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: USD $80,000.
  • Health insurance: Including Vision and Dental.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Performance bonus.
  • Gym/Wellness support.
