Our success is driven by deep expertise, disciplined processes, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. We are expanding our training function and seeking an Operations Trainer who specializes in Secondary Market Due Diligence to support our growing teams.

Position Overview

The Corporate Trainer โ€“ Secondary Market Due Diligence is responsible for developing and delivering training programs that support Opus CMCโ€™s core due diligence operations, including credit, compliance, TRID, Laura Mac, valuation, data integrity, and securitizationโ€‘related review workflows.

This role ensures that analysts, underwriters, and QC staff are fully equipped to meet investor expectations, regulatory requirements, and Opus CMCโ€™s internal quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Development & Delivery

Design and deliver training programs specific to secondary market due diligence, including credit review, compliance review, ATR/QM, TRID, data validation, investorโ€‘specific requirements and Laura Mac system.

Facilitate newโ€‘hire training for due diligence underwriters

Develop and maintain SOPs, job aids, workflow guides, and reference materials

Conduct live virtual and inโ€‘person training sessions, refreshers, and calibration workshops

Evaluate training effectiveness using quality trends, audit results, and performance data

Secondary Market Due Diligence Expertise

Provide subjectโ€‘matter expertise on loanโ€‘level due diligence for securitizations, whole loan trades, and investor acquisitions

Train staff on credit grading, income/asset analysis, collateral review, and compliance testing

Support training on investor guidelines, rating agency expectations, and transactionโ€‘specific requirements

Stay current on regulatory changes and market trends impacting secondary market reviews

Performance Support & Quality Alignment

Partner with Operations Leadership, QC, and Audit teams to identify skill gaps and training needs

Provide coaching and support to analysts and underwriters

Assist in developing certification programs and skills assessments

Integrate quality findings and investor feedback into training curriculum

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate training records and attendance logs

Ensure training content aligns with investor, regulatory, and internal compliance standards

Support audit and client requests related to training documentation

Qualifications

Required

3+ years of experience in secondary market mortgage due diligence, credit risk review, or securitizationโ€‘related operations

Strong Laura Mac expertise

Strong understanding of credit, compliance, collateral, TRID, and data integrity review processes

Experience training, mentoring, and coaching operational staff

Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

Ability to translate complex investor requirements into clear, actionable training content

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Experience in thirdโ€‘party review, rating agencyโ€‘aligned due diligence, or whole loan trading environments

Familiarity with due diligence platforms and workflow systems

Experience creating multimedia or eโ€‘learning training content

Prior corporate training or instructional design experience
