Job description

Purpose:
The Content Operations Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end quality, consistency, and operational efficiency of digital and eCommerce content. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, site merchandising, and process optimization-ensuring product detail pages, category content, and digital assets meet brand standards and drive conversion. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can translate data and cross-functional inputs into clean, publish-ready content.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
Content Production & Quality
  • Author, review, and publish product descriptions, titles, attributes, and digital copy for eCommerce channels.
  • Audit live site content to identify gaps, errors, and inconsistencies; manage correction workflows to resolution.
  • Enforce content style guides, brand voice, and SEO best practices across all product categories.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Vendors to gather and validate content inputs.

Content Operations & Process
  • Manage content intake workflows-tracking requests, priorities, and delivery timelines across multiple stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update content in PIM (Product Information Management) systems, CMS platforms, and internal databases.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements to increase throughput and reduce error rates.
  • Build and maintain content templates, checklists, and SOPs to scale consistent output.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Track content completeness, publish rates, and quality KPIs; report findings to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Partner with analytics teams to connect content attributes to site performance metrics (conversion, bounce rate, search rank).
  • Surface content-driven opportunities and risks based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the content operations point of contact for Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Technology teams.
  • Participate in new product launch planning to ensure content readiness by go-live dates.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new team members on content tools and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in content operations, digital merchandising, eCommerce, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a CMS, PIM, or DAM platform (e.g., Apptentive, Salsify, Contentful, Drupal).
  • Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail, grammar, and brand consistency.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking, reporting, and data validation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.

Preferred
  • Experience with SEO principles and keyword optimization for product content.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing or content performance analysis tools.
  • Exposure to workflow management tools such as Asana, Jira, or Monday.com.
  • Background in retail, home improvement, or hard-surface flooring categories.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or a related field.
