Job description

SEO, GEO, & Content Strategist

At RPI, we are transforming how products are created, produced, and delivered worldwide. Every day, our cloud-based platform powers millions of personalized, on-demand items that reach customers with speed, quality, and sustainability. We partner with leading brands, publishers, and creative platformsโ€”including Blurb.com, our consumer-facing self-publishing brandโ€”to bring ideas to life at global scale.

Location: Remote (U.S. Only). Candidates must be physically based in and authorized to work in the United States. Due to team collaboration needs, candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone are preferred.
About the Role
We are looking an SEO/GEO strategist that is well versed in traditional organic search optimization as well as emerging AI platforms.
Reporting to our Senior Marketing Manager, Website & SEO, you'll be the hands-on specialist who turns strategy into finished assets: writing and optimizing commercial pages, producing competitive content, running prompt tests, conducting technical audits, and executing PR outreach to secure third-party placements.
You'll work cross-functionally with the Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to ship improvements that drive traffic, registrations, and revenue. Youโ€™ll also help shape our emerging AI search visibility strategy as search behavior rapidly evolves across LLM-powered platforms.

We're looking for someone who brings both SEO fundamentals and strong content copywriting ability, with a bias for proactive outreach. You're comfortable working in a rapidly evolving space, helping design methodology in real-time. You thrive on execution, moving fast, and delivering finished work that ships.

Key Responsibilities

Content Production & Commercial Page Optimization

  • Write and optimize commercial pages
  • Produce finished content pieces designed for both organic SEO and AI citation.
  • Develop answer blocks, FAQ sections, and structured content optimized for LLM retrieval across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude.
  • Create internal linking strategies that transfer authority from blog content to commercial pages.

GEO and AI Visibility Execution

  • Run monthly AI search and prompt testing to evaluate visibility across AI-powered search platforms and Google AI responses.
  • Track AI citation performance using Semrush; document patterns and gaps in shared tracking.
  • Build and test answer-block content specifically designed for AI retrievability.
  • Monitor competitor AI visibility and surface strategic insights
  • Validate schema implementations for AI search optimization.

Technical SEO & Auditing

  • Conduct monthly technical SEO audits using Semrush: schema coverage, indexation, Core Web Vitals, crawlability, and internal linking opportunities.
  • Create schema specifications for priority pages (FAQ, HowTo, Product, Organization, Breadcrumb).
  • Coordinate with the Engineering team on implementation via Jira: creating tickets, providing specs, and testing deployed changes.
  • Monitor Google Search Console for indexation issues, query performance trends, and technical opportunities.
  • Track technical issue resolution and flag blockers.

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain the content roadmap aligned to customer persona priorities and business objectives.
  • Identify content gaps based on keyword research, AI citation analysis, and competitive audits.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing on messaging consistency across owned channels.
  • Repurpose and optimize existing blog content to strengthen commercial page authority.

PR Outreach & Third-Party Placement

  • Identify and prioritize third-party review sites, roundups, and industry publications
  • Use Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit to build data-driven outreach target lists based on competitor citation sources.
  • Execute proactive PR outreach to secure 3-5 placements in high-authority self-publishing roundups within the first 6 months.
  • Build relationships with self-publishing journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers.
  • Coordinate with the Product team on product announcements and thought leadership opportunities that support backlink building.
  • Track third-party placements and measure their impact on AI citation rates and domain authority.

Research & Competitive Intelligence

  • Execute keyword research and gap analysis for bottom-of-funnel commercial queries.
  • Monitor which third-party sites and identify opportunities for Blurb inclusion.
  • Document emerging AI search behaviors and patterns across platforms.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of SEO experience with hands-on content writing and commercial page optimization.
  • Strong commercial copywriting ability. You'll write conversion-focused page copy, not just blog content.
  • Experience with PR outreach, media relations, or backlink building strategies; comfortable pitching journalists and industry publications.
  • Content strategy experience: developing content roadmaps, identifying gaps, and aligning content to business objectives.
  • Technical SEO fundamentals: schema markup, metadata, internal linking, and working understanding of Core Web Vitals.
  • Proficiency with enterprise SEO platforms (Semrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent), Google Analytics 4, and Google Search Console.
  • Comfort working in emerging disciplines where best practices are still being written.
  • Experience with AI search optimization (AEO/GEO) or prompt engineering a strong plus.
  • Background in SaaS, eCommerce, marketplace, or self-publishing/print-on-demand industries a plus.
  • Existing relationships with self-publishing industry journalists, bloggers, or publications a plus.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Our Core Values

  • At RPI, our values shape how we work, lead, and grow together:
  • Be Trustworthy โ€” Act with integrity
  • Act with Ownership โ€” Excellence beyond expectations
  • Deliver an Extraordinary Customer Experience โ€” Exceed customer expectations
  • Be Adaptable โ€” Focus on the opportunity
  • Bias for Action โ€” Take smart risks, learn from new mistakes
  • Embrace Sustainability โ€” Create a sustainable future together

If you believe youโ€™re a good fit for this role and share our passion for excellence, weโ€™d love to hear from you!
