Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Content Publishing & Automation Specialist for our client, a global productivity and collaboration leader and AI-driven technology organization. This role blends digital content publishing, structured QA, and hands-on workflow automation to improve how Microsoft 365 content is prepared, validated, published, and maintained across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and emerging Copilot experiences. You'll build and refine scalable automation using Python, PowerShell, APIs, and AI-assisted development tools while partnering across content, design, engineering, and localization teams. Your work will directly improve publishing quality, reduce manual effort, and create more efficient and reliable content operations at scale.
Top Required Skills (Must Haves):
  1. Workflow Automation and Scripting - 2+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, and maintaining automated solutions using Python, PowerShell, APIs, or similar technologies to streamline manual and repetitive operational workflows.
  2. Content Publishing and Operations - 2+ years of experience with CMS platforms, content ingestion, metadata management, publishing workflows, and structured content QA.
  3. Microsoft 365 - 2+ years of strong practical experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including reviewing and preparing content for publishing and ingestion.

Opportunity Overview:
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining content expertise with hands-on automation and development. You'll split your time between content publishing and QA and building solutions that transform manual or error-prone processes into reliable, scalable workflows. The role offers meaningful ownership and exposure to Python, PowerShell, APIs, GitHub Copilot, Copilot CLI, batch processing, validation tools, and reporting dashboards, with the opportunity to influence how new content workflows are designed rather than simply maintaining established processes.
How you will make an impact:
  • Perform detailed QA of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates prior to ingestion, including metadata, accessibility, and publishing-standard validation.
  • Publish, update, and maintain digital content within a CMS using established workflows and release requirements.
  • Support en-US and localized bulk-ingestion workflows and coordinate handoffs across content, design, and localization teams.
  • Maintain operational documentation, trackers, status updates, and audit trails for publishing activities.
  • Identify repetitive or error-prone content operations and translate them into clear automation requirements and maintainable workflows.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain scripts and lightweight automation tools using Python, PowerShell, APIs, and similar technologies.
  • Use GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code, or comparable AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Consolidate existing scripts into simple, reliable end-to-end tools, including one-click workflows where appropriate.
  • Create dashboards and reporting solutions that provide visibility into publishing workstreams, throughput, quality, and blockers.
  • Develop process documentation, user guidance, and support materials that enable automated solutions to be successfully adopted and maintained.
  • Balance automation with appropriate human review to improve efficiency without compromising content quality or publishing controls.

The expertise you bring:
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital content publishing, content operations, production operations, workflow automation, content management, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Content Automation, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience using a CMS or publishing platform to prepare, publish, update, and maintain digital content.
  • Strong understanding of content publishing lifecycles, including intake, metadata preparation, QA, localization, ingestion, release, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience automating workflows using Python, PowerShell, APIs, or another scripting technology.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience performing structured QA against defined requirements or checklists.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple publishing and automation priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
  • Experience with APIs, Git-based workflows, command-line tools, Kusto, Excel automation, dashboards, or reporting solutions is preferred.
  • Experience developing batch-processing tools, validation frameworks, or internal utilities for content or quality operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, prompt-based workflows, or human-in-the-loop quality processes is preferred.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:
A highly successful candidate will be equally comfortable reviewing a Microsoft 365 template for subtle quality issues, managing content through a publishing workflow, and opening a terminal to automate a repetitive process. They bring strong hands-on scripting and automation skills along with practical content operations experience and can turn manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes into reliable, scalable, and well-documented solutions. They are meticulous, curious, proactive, and pragmatic, communicate risks and dependencies early, and build trusted partnerships across content, design, engineering, and localization teams. Experience consolidating scripts, developing batch-processing or validation workflows, and using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-assisted development tools will further distinguish candidates for this role.
