What is a content farm?

A Content Farm job involves creating large volumes of written, video, or multimedia content, often optimized for search engines. These jobs typically focus on quantity over quality, producing quick, formulaic pieces to drive traffic and ad revenue. Writers or creators may have strict deadlines and lower pay per piece. The content is often used for websites looking to attract visitors rather than provide in-depth expertise.

What does a content farm do?

Content farm writers typically spend their days researching assigned topics, producing multiple short articles or blog posts, and optimizing all content for relevant keywords. They often use editorial calendars, follow strict style guides, and make revisions based on editor or client feedback. Collaboration with fellow writers, editors, and SEO specialists is common to ensure quality and consistency across content. The high pace and volume of work require strong organization skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new assignments or content guidelines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the content farm position?

To thrive in a content farm role, you need strong writing, research, and SEO skills, often supported by familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing. Proficiency in tools like WordPress, Grammarly, and keyword research platforms such as SEMrush or Ahrefs is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and adaptability are key soft skills to meet rapid content production goals and shifting editorial guidelines. These skills ensure consistent, high-quality output that meets both quantity demands and search engine optimization standards.

Job description

About VOXEL

VOXEL is the leading 3D-printing materials manufacturer in the United States. We engineer, manufacture, and test high-performance 3D-printing filaments at our Southern California facility.

Our products are trusted by hobbyists, professional print farms, engineers, and businesses nationwide. With a rapidly growing product line, a 250-machine print farm, and a major expansion underway, we are looking for a talented Social Media Content Creator to bring our products and company story to life.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Social Media Content Creator to develop, film, edit, and publish engaging content across VOXELโ€™s social media channels.

You will create short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, product demonstrations, educational content, challenges, and behind-the-scenes stories. The ideal candidate has previously produced high-quality content for other brands and understands how to turn products and technical information into entertaining content people want to watch and share.

This is an on-camera position. You must be confident, energetic, and comfortable regularly presenting products and appearing in videos. You should be able to make 3D-printing filament feel exciting, entertaining, and accessible while maintaining a professional and credible brand image.

Location: Garden Grove, California

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Location: In Person

Salary: $50,000โ€“$65,000 per year, based on experience

Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus and equity

Benefits: 401(k), paid sick leave, and paid holidays

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop original concepts, scripts, hooks, and storyboards for short-form and long-form videos.
  • Film and edit Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form content.
  • Produce educational, entertaining, and product-focused long-form YouTube videos.
  • Confidently appear on camera to demonstrate products, explain concepts, and represent the VOXEL brand.
  • Create, schedule, and publish content across VOXELโ€™s social media channels.
  • Maintain a consistent content calendar and reliable posting cadence.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes footage of our manufacturing facility, print farm, products, employees, and product-development process.
  • Produce product demonstrations, comparisons, tutorials, challenges, customer stories, educational videos, and product-launch content.
  • Turn each filming session into multiple pieces of platform-specific content.
  • Write engaging captions, titles, descriptions, and calls to action.
  • Stay current with social media trends, editing styles, formats, sounds, and platform best practices.
  • Engage with audiences and identify content opportunities based on comments, questions, and trends.
  • Collaborate with team members and confidently direct employees, customers, or other talent during filming.
  • Organize video files and maintain a consistent visual identity and brand voice.
  • Review metrics such as views, watch time, retention, engagement, follower growth, and conversions.
  • Use performance data to continuously improve future content.

Weโ€™re Looking for Someone Who

  • Loves creating videos.
  • Understands what makes people stop scrolling.
  • Thinks like an entertainer and storytellerโ€”not simply an advertiser.
  • Is confident, natural, energetic, and engaging on camera.
  • Can shoot and edit compelling videos using either a smartphone or professional camera equipment.
  • Has previously created high-quality content for other brands.
  • Has experience creating content that grows audiences on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Can move quickly from an initial idea to finished, published content.
  • Knows how to make technical products visually interesting and exciting.
  • Enjoys experimenting, learning, and improving through performance data.
  • Has a genuine passion for 3D printing, toys, games, sports, challenges, technology, or family entertainment.
  • Brings positive energy, curiosity, creativity, and fresh ideas every day.
  • Can work independently while collaborating effectively with the rest of the team.

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio of short-form videos, long-form videos, or branded content.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality content for established brands.
  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to create attention-grabbing hooks.
  • Confidence and experience appearing on camera.
  • Experience using editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
  • Working knowledge of cameras, smartphones, lighting, audio equipment, and video-production techniques.
  • A strong understanding of content formats for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet publishing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of branding.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing and product-development environment.
  • Able to accept feedback, test new ideas, and continuously improve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating content for an e-commerce, consumer-product, technology, engineering, or manufacturing brand.
  • Knowledge of YouTube content strategy and search optimization.
  • Experience with motion graphics, animation, photography, or graphic design.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing, engineering, manufacturing, or maker culture.

What We Offer

  • A salary of $50,000โ€“$65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Equity in a rapidly growing American manufacturing company.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid sick leave.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Access to a 250-machine 3D-printing farm and active materials-manufacturing facility.
  • A steady stream of new products, experiments, launches, and visually interesting content opportunities.
  • Creative freedom to test new concepts, formats, and ideas.
  • Opportunities for professional growth as VOXEL continues to expand.
