As Communications Specialist Sr- Corporate Strategic Development, New Energy Ventures, and Power, you will serve as the liaison for implementation of the corporate communications strategy related to your assigned area of focus. You will proactively handle and neutralize sensitive issues and thoroughly understand the business and other issues that impact your area. The ability to collaborate with others, build company partner relationships and work independently on multiple sophisticated assignments are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Coordinates strategy development, positioning and messaging for earned media including writing and distribution of approved press releases, media advisories, statements and talking points
  • Identifies and develops proactive content for Williams' online newsroom, blending business narratives and creative storytelling to push engaging content
  • Builds and nurtures relationships to drive an understanding of the company's business initiatives and brand differentiators
  • Designs coordinated communications campaigns that generate positive earned media through digital and social channels; analyzes impact and outcomes
  • Collaborates with others to provide timely media response to routine inquiries and support for unanticipated events, sensitive issues and critical incidents
  • Supports an executive speaker's bureau to promote thought leadership within the industry and develops key messaging for executive speeches, presentations and media interviews
  • Serves as media spokesperson; trains and mentors others
  • Tracks and analyzes media coverage and communicates potential impact
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in strategic communications, public relations, journalism, media relations or related field and a minimum of five (5) years' related experience
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in public relations, media relations and/or crisis management
  • Experience with handling digital and social media channels, including bloggers and traditional print and broadcast media
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety is the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of media, reporting methods and public relations strategies and tactics.
  • Experience crafting multi-dimensional communications plans across all media channels
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and/or to confidential information
