Job Title: Marketing Content & Design Specialist

Department: Marketing

Location:  Camp Fire Resource Center, 2700 Meacham Blvd, Forth Worth, TX, 76137

In-Person/Virtual: Hybrid, Tuesdays and Thursdays onsite , Required on-site at select Camp fire events and programs

Reports To: Vice President Marketing & Communications

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Regular/Temporary: Regular

Compensation Package: $40K-$45K

Job Summary:  The Marketing Content & Design Specialist brings the Camp Fire First Texas brand to life through thoughtful design, compelling content, and community-focused outreach. This role develops print and digital assets, manages organic social media content, supports email marketing, and ensures brand consistency across all platforms and materials. With a strong With a strong eye for visual storytelling, the Specialist also contributes to event promotion, content capture, and the overall strategic execution of integrated marketing campaigns.

Essential Functions:  

A successful candidate in this role is a highly creative, detail-oriented visual storyteller with strong design instincts and a passion for community engagement. This hands-on position plays a key role in bringing the Camp Fire First Texas brand to life across print, digital, and social platforms, ensuring consistent and compelling communication. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, manages multiple projects with ease, and brings a positive, mission-driven attitude to every assignment.

    • Designing branded marketing materials for print and digital use, including flyers, social graphics, signage, and email templates
    • Writing and scheduling organic social media posts that reflect program goals, community stories, and key messages
    • Organizing and staffing community outreach events and promotional activities, including preparing materials and branded signage
    • Capturing photos and videos at programs and events to support storytelling and campaign development
    • Updating website content in collaboration with the digital team, with attention to user experience and visual consistency
    • Supporting email marketing through layout design, content coordination, and platform scheduling
    • Participating in campaign planning meetings and collaborating on integrated outreach strategies
    • Support communicatin with Board of Directors, attend and take notes during board meetings, and assist CEO with projects as needed
    • Maintaining shared folders of brand assets, Canva templates, and visual materials in an organized and accessible system
    • Ensuring all materials adhere to Camp Fire's brand standards, accessibility best practices, and inclusive representation

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:   

    • Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field (equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
    • Strong visual design skills with demonstrated experience in both print and digital production
    • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
    • Working knowledge of brand standards, visual accessibility, and print production processes
    • Experience writing and designing content for organic social media and email marketing
    • Familiarity with email platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar tools
    • Basic experience updating website content and working within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
    • Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and visual-with a strong grasp of AP Style
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
    • Experience with content planning tools, social scheduling platforms, and basic campaign metrics reporting is a plus

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Prefer 1+ years relevant experience in marketing or communications

    • Knowledge of current email best practices regarding design, layout, messaging, and deliverability

    • Knowledge of marketing software like HubSpot

    • Knowledge of Monday.com project management software

    • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities

    • HTML editing

    • Photography

    • Google Analytics experience, certification a plus

    • Promotional event experience
    • Bilingual Spanish writer/speaker a plus 

Accountability: This position is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relations with program team leads. Must balance the ability to be a fluid collaborator between teams and executive leadership while keeping organizational values, key messages, and impact at the forefront of all omnichannel communication strategies.

Campaign Design & Production (30%)

Designs branded marketing materials (flyers, digital ads, emails, signage, social graphics) to support all core program areas. Ensures visual consistency and accessibility across print and digital.

Organic Social Media Content (15%)

Writes, designs, and schedules organic posts. Contributes to the master content calendar and partners with the Digital Coordinator to align messaging and visuals.

Community Events & Promo Support (15%)

Organizes, prepares, and staffs community tabling events, school promos, and outreach pop-ups. Coordinates branded materials, signage, and giveaways.

Content Collection & Event Support (10%)

Captures content (photos/videos) at key events and program sites to support storytelling and promotional use.

Website Content & SEO (10%)

Supports visual layout and content updates on the website. Collaborates with Digital Coordinator to ensure brand alignment and user experience best practices.

Email Marketing (10%)

Assists in design, copywriting, and scheduling of email communications. Ensures templates are on brand and optimized for engagement.

Campaign Support & Asset Management (10%)

Participates in strategic campaign planning. Maintains shared folders of design assets, Canva templates, and marketing visuals for team use.

General Responsibilities

  • Participates in campaign planning sessions to coordinate themes, visuals, and deliverables across platforms. 
  • Maintains organized digital asset libraries, including photo/video archives, Canva templates, brand files, and collateral in shared drives. 
  • Ensures all work supports the strategic goals of Camp Fire First Texas, maintaining alignment with voice, values, and inclusive representation.
