The Museum
Located in Tacoma, Washington, Museum of Glass is a premier contemporary art museum dedicated to glass and glassmaking in the West Coast’s largest and most active museum glass studio. Opened in 2002, the Museum has established a reputation for hosting impactful and engaging artist residencies, organizing and exhibiting nationally traveling exhibitions, and creating unique programs for visitors, all while building a growing permanent collection chronicling the development of modern and contemporary glass.
Based in the Pacific Northwest, a center of the Studio Glass movement, the Museum serves regional, national, and international audiences. The Role

The Marketing and Content Manager plays a key role in developing strategic integrated marketing programs that leverage traditional and digital media to support exhibitions, programs, events, and Museum-wide initiatives. This role contributes to the development of the Museum’s online presence across websites, social media accounts, email communications, and community calendars. The position collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Director and Senior Graphic Designer, leading content creation and copywriting for traditional and digital materials, including the Museum’s social media accounts, email campaigns, member publication, blog, and website.
Specific Job Functions
- Develop and produce compelling content for a variety of publications and collateral materials including social media, the website, email campaigns, online calendars, member outreach, marketing campaigns, and other marketing tactics.
- Work directly with Museum colleagues to stay informed on upcoming events and initiatives, shaping the messaging for visitors and the community.
- Develop and implement strategy for social media and manage vertical video content. Monitor social media analytics and KPIs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans and content that engage with visitors and highlight exhibitions, Hot Shop, permanent collections, educational programming, store, café, private events, and the Museum overall.
- In coordination with other departments, plan special events, community outreach efforts, and promotions. Occasional needs for event staffing.
- Collaborate with marketing team members and other departments to develop and implement strategies to enhance the Museum’s image, brand identity, and promote marketing initiatives.
- Actively engage in relevant community conversations and monitor the Museum’s online presence, including Instagram and Facebook.
- Support the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop and oversee relationships with vendors and community partners.
- Track, monitor, and evaluate impact of initiatives. Prepare metrics reports to demonstrate results.
- Photography support for Museum events and content creation.
- Additional duties as assigned in support of the Museum

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related area of study from an accredited institution of higher learning, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years' work experience in marketing or related field.

- Excellent interpersonal skills: individual must be personable and diplomatic in working with diverse constituency and staff.
- Able to effectively represent the Museum at public events.
- Must be suited for a fast-paced, high-energy work environment and have strong organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once, meet tight deadlines, and remain flexible to shifting demands and priorities
- Proficiency with office applications: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
