Social Media & Video Content Specialist

Position Type: Part-Time

Hours: 10 hours per week

Schedule: Afternoons, approximately 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Pay: $12–$13 per hour


Position Overview

Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama is seeking a creative, dependable, and enthusiastic Social Media & Video Content Specialist to help capture and share the impact happening across our Clubs. This part-time position will focus on creating engaging photo and video content, supporting social media efforts, and highlighting the experiences of our Club Kids and staff.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a camera or smartphone, has an eye for engaging content, and understands what makes social media content fun, authentic, and shareable.

Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and short-form video content of Club activities, programs, events, and special moments.
  • Create engaging content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Assist with filming and editing Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other short-form videos.
  • Help develop creative content ideas that showcase the impact of Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama.
  • Work with staff to identify activities and events that would make strong social media content.
  • Follow BGCWA branding and social media guidelines.
  • Organize and maintain photo and video files.
  • Assist with gathering content from multiple Club locations as needed.
  • Ensure content appropriately represents Club Kids, staff, and the organization.
  • Stay up to date on current social media trends and suggest new ways to engage our audience.

Qualifications

  • Interest or experience in social media, photography, videography, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Comfortable taking photos and videos using a smartphone or camera.
  • Basic video editing skills; experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar programs is a plus.
  • Creative mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable interacting with children, teens, and staff in a professional and positive manner.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and current content trends.
  • Must be available during afternoon hours, approximately 3:00–5:00 p.m.
