Schedule: Monday - Friday, day shift
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Container Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of containers, as well as domestic and intermodal equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, general repairs, and container upkeep, with a strong attention to detail and safety.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs on containers, domestic, and intermodal equipment.
  • Select and work with appropriate materials for welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Layout, cut, align, and fit components for welding and painting.
  • Bolt, clamp, tack-weld, or otherwise secure parts in place for repair.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment to complete necessary repairs.
  • Replace, repair, and install tire and wheel components as needed.
  • Conduct general depot maintenance and assist with various repair duties.
  • Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks and install/remove plywood flooring.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Carry out other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience in container repair or a similar mechanical/welding role.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in metal fabrication and repair.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor/industrial environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification which may include criminal background check, physical and drug screening
