DEPARTMENT: Sumter Solidification, LLC dba ReIntegrated (REI) - Operations Container Processing Associate
REPORTS TO: Facility Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Container Processing Associate is responsible for the safe handling, inspection, processing, and disposal of non-hazardous waste containers in accordance with facility procedures and regulatory requirements. This role supports daily operations by ensuring proper container management, maintaining a clean work area, and complying with all safety and environmental standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but is not limited to):
  • Receive, inspect, and identify non-hazardous waste containers for proper processing
  • Open, empty, and process containers using approved tools and equipment
  • Sort and segregate materials according to facility procedures
  • Operate handling equipment such as forklifts, container handlers, pallet jacks, etc. (as trained)
  • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and tracking of received/processed materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with housekeeping standards
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations
  • Immediately communicate spills, or safety concerns to supervision
  • Assist with routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned

Safety & Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Comply with OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety requirements
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses
  • Follow spill prevention and response procedures

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in waste management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Proficient with written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work independently, but must be able to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Manual handling of drums and materials

Work Environment:
  • Non-hazardous waste processing facility
  • Exposure to noise, odors, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Operation of mechanical equipment and hand tools
  • Safety-driven, fast-paced industrial setting

Hours of Work:
  • Typically, Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm, but hours can vary. A company issued mobile device is required for during and after hour service.

Travel:
  • Errands to various local entities as deemed necessary by management.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time. Management exercises the right to change this without notice.
