Job description


Job Summary:
The Design Manager (Furniture & Patio) is an influencer and expert in their assigned product category. Partnering with Buyers, interpreting brand concepts and category strategies, to design and develop compelling Merchandise that delivers the value, quality and aesthetic that supports the At Home vision. Reports to Design Director as a team member of the Brand Concept and Design Team.
WORK LOCATION DETAILS
Work Location: Home Office - Coppell, TX
Work Schedule: Hybrid
  • Onsite: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • Work from Home: Mondays and Fridays

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear item directives to the merchant team for assigned product responsibilities
  • Partner with Brand Concept Team to understand and execute Concept vision, including color, silhouette, materiality, print & pattern each season
  • Communicate with and leverage external design resources and contractors
  • Identify product opportunities informed by Concept Team, trade shows, market research and consumer insight
  • Manage assigned category calendar and timeline deliverables
  • Partner with Sourcing and Merchant team to execute assigned category development
  • Partner with At Home product partners to influence and leverage their design capabilities, and ensure directives are interpreted and executed appropriately.
  • Travel as required, i.e. Trade Shows/Markets, Development and Style Out trips

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant Product Design or Product Development experience
  • Furntiture & Patio design/development experience required
  • Expert with MS Office products
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Excellent eye for color, pattern, design details and craftsmanship
  • Presentation skills - including verbal, written and creative visuals
  • Ability to develop/maintain strong working relationship with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong Influencer - comfortable with decision making, problem solving and providing solutions
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities

Able to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
