Are you ready to embark on an electrifying journey that will revolutionize the global food system?

Seize this opportunity to join the trailblazing team at TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods (TAC) - a powerhouse committed to disrupting the status quo with state-of-the-art applications that leverage data to reimagine the way we approach food!

We are not just a team; we are an inspired collective on a relentless mission to establish the most trusted food system worldwide, unraveling transformative insights and optimizing processes from the fields to your plate. At TAC, we are more than just individuals; United in passion and purpose, we collaboratively breathe life into these extraordinary opportunities.

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

You'll join the TELUS Consumer Goods sales team-part of the rapidly expanding TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods division-as a Business Development Representative where you'll be the critical first link in our sales pipeline.

We're on the cutting edge of SaaS and AI solutions that help CPG and foodservice businesses eliminate the guesswork, connect strategy to execution, and transform operational challenges into unbeatable growth.

In this role, you'll identify, engage, and qualify high-potential opportunities by connecting prospects with solutions that deliver the insight to decide, confidence to act, and power to grow. Working alongside Account Executives, Account Directors, and a supportive Manager of Business Development, your outbound prospecting skills will directly impact pipeline velocity and revenue growth across our innovative CPG portfolio.

What you'll do

  • Lead outbound prospecting campaigns via phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate net-new leads and build a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunities in the foodservice and retail CPG space
  • Conduct discovery calls with prospects to understand their business challenges, pain points, and operational goals, using findings to tailor messaging and assess fit for TELUS Consumer Goods solutions
  • Apply the BANT qualification framework (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) to evaluate leads and hand off only sales-ready opportunities to Account Executives and Account Directors
  • Maintain a deep, evolving understanding of the TELUS Consumer Goods solution portfolio-including AI-powered auditing, predictive analytics, inventory optimization, and retail execution capabilities-to accurately represent value and competitive differentiation
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and your BDR Manager to refine discovery questions, improve qualification accuracy, and execute targeted outreach campaigns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce records to track lead flow from MQL through BANT qualification, enabling pipeline visibility and conversion reporting
  • Build industry expertise in foodservice and retail CPG operations, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to become a trusted resource for prospects and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as the key link between Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Accepted Leads (SALs), ensuring smooth, timely, and high-quality handoffs that set up Account Executives for success
  • Participate in BDR campaign creation and execution-including webinars, events, and follow-up sequences-contributing ideas, executing outreach, and reporting on results to optimize campaign performance
  • Leverage sales collateral from Marketing and Product Management to support outreach and discovery activities, and provide feedback on messaging effectiveness and collateral gaps
  • Continuously refine qualification processes and discovery frameworks in collaboration with your BDR Manager and team to improve conversion accuracy and pipeline quality

What you bring

  • 1-2+ years of experience in B2B sales development, inside sales, or outbound prospecting roles
  • Experience working in a fast-growing, scaling organization or SaaS environment
  • Track record of exceeding activity or pipeline targets and a competitive drive to succeed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex SaaS and technology solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BANT or similar sales qualification frameworks (essential to your role as the gatekeeper between MQLs and sales-ready opportunities)
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and comfort with sales technology and data entry discipline
  • Proven ability to execute outbound prospecting activities (cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach) with consistency and resilience
  • Self-motivated, organized, and coachable with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work effectively with Account Executives, Marketing, and cross-functional teams

Great-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the foodservice or retail CPG industry or retail execution challenges
  • Experience or familiarity with AI-powered tools, predictive analytics, or data-driven sales approaches
  • Understanding of retail execution software or point-of-sale optimization concepts

At TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where all individuals can thrive. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that each person brings to our team and invite you to join us on our journey of growth and learning. Together, we aim to create a respectful and welcoming global community.
