What is a consumer experience manager?

A Consumer Experience Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and enhancing the overall experience that customers have with a brand, product, or service. They analyze customer feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to ensure positive interactions at every touchpoint. Their goal is to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention by making the consumer journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

How does a consumer experience manager typically collaborate with other departments to enhance the customer journey?

Consumer Experience Managers frequently work cross-functionally, partnering with teams such as marketing, product development, customer service, and sales to ensure a seamless and positive customer journey. They gather and analyze feedback from various touchpoints, then communicate insights and recommendations to relevant departments to drive improvements. This collaborative approach helps align organizational efforts around customer-centric goals and ensures that consumer feedback is integrated into both strategic decisions and daily operations.

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills help you effectively lead teams and resolve consumer issues. These abilities ensure you can design and implement strategies that improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and overall brand reputation.

This role is ideal for a strategic, consumer-focused leader who combines analytical thinking, operational excellence, and strong cross-functional influence to build and advance a modern, scalable consumer experience program.

The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $133,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

This position is located onsite at our corporate office or may be remote for the right candidate.

  • Ensure a high-quality, consistent consumer experience across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Monitor program performance, consumer satisfaction, and service effectiveness.
  • Analyze consumer feedback and translate insights into business recommendations.
  • Serve as the Voice of the Consumer and advocate for consumer needs across the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve products, packaging, communications, and consumer experiences.
  • Develop and enhance consumer experience and insight capabilities, including processes, reporting, technology, and operations.
  • Support product issues, recalls, crisis response, and reputation management activities as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships, program budgets, and compliance requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Consumer Insights, Customer Experience, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in consumer experience, consumer insights, customer experience, contact center operations, or a related consumer-facing function.
  • Experience leading consumer-focused programs, teams, or outsourced service providers.
  • Strong analytical, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience leveraging consumer feedback and operational data to drive business decisions and improvements.
  • Familiarity with consumer care, CRM, contact center, and reporting technologies.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Consumer packaged goods, food, beverages, retail, or other consumer-focused industry experience.
  • Experience supporting product issues, recalls, crisis communications, or other high-sensitivity consumer situations.
