Position Overview:
The Consumer Direct Loan Officer is responsible for originating mortgage loans through a robust pipeline of inbound leads while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for a sales professional who wants to elevate their consumer direct lending expertise in a dynamic, performance-oriented environment. The Consumer Direct Loan Officer receives ongoing coaching, call reviews, and professional development opportunities designed to enhance sales effectiveness, maximize production, and support long-term career growth.
Job Responsibilities:
• Respond to inbound and outbound inquiries from prospective borrowers.
• Educate customers on available loan products, interest rates, terms, and financing options.
• Assess applicants' financial situations, credit history, income, assets, and borrowing needs.
• Recommend loan solutions that align with customer goals and qualification requirements.
• Guide customers through the loan application process from initial contact through closing.
• Collect, review, and verify required documentation, including income, employment, and asset information.
• Maintain regular communication with borrowers regarding application status and outstanding requirements.
• Partner with loan processors, underwriters, and closing teams to facilitate loan approvals and closings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company lending regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Convert qualified leads to funded loans by providing a consultative and customer-focused sales experience.
• Manage a pipeline of mortgage loan applications and drive loans efficiently through the origination process.
• Meet or exceed individual production, conversion, and customer satisfaction goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Active NMLS license or eligibility for licensure.
• 2+ years of mortgage loan origination experience.
• Experience converting inbound opportunities into funded loans.
• Experience in a consumer direct or call center mortgage lending environment.
• Skilled at applying feedback to enhance performance and achieve business objectives.
• Excellent consultative sales, objection-handling, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
