Job description

The general function of the program:

The provision of intense in-home or in-school individualized behavioral intervention supports and services for children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

The primary purpose of this position:

This position will supervise assigned BCaBA and Behavior Tech staff. It will support and oversee the development and the implementation of service plans to provide an intensive individualized behavioral intervention supports and services program for children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting assessments; creating behavior plans; training ABA support staff; supervising ABA support staff during 1:1 therapy in home, school or community settings; participating in the development of social groups; performing school advocacy; consulting on IEP development; and coordinating reporting to controlling state agencies. This position may also assign ABA support staff to consumers based on the needs of the consumers and the strengths of the ABA support staff. Finally, this BCBA may be responsible for building an in-home ABA supports network to meet the needs of consumers in response to the NJ Department of Children and Families goals and Archway Programs' needs.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs Functional Behavior Assessments and other evaluations.
  • Provides case management reviews and case supervision. Participates in the review and matching of new clients to ABA support staff.
  • Develops and ensures implementation of individual program plans and daily schedules for all consumers. Monitors adherence to treatment plans. Regularly reviews student/consumer records to monitor school/home visits. Monitors all contractual, local and corporate mandates.
  • Performs supervision visits in student/consumer classroom/home and/or other environments.
  • Oversees clinical and crisis management and investigates internal incidents as required.
  • Facilitates communication with family members, case managers, state agencies and state/corporate offices to ensure the confidentiality of consumer and personnel related information.
  • Coordinates daily operations of work sites to ensure consumer safety and programming needs are met. Establishes on-call duties and supervises on-call staff.
  • Ensures that all records are accurate, up to date, and in compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
  • Provides direct supervision of staff; implements Archway employee practices; ensures safety and workers' compensation initiatives are followed; and ensures employees receive appropriate orientation and training.
  • Writes and submits summary of assessments and recommended behavior support plan components to interdisciplinary team managing agency or program manager as applicable.
  • Ensures behavior support plans and support services provided are in compliance with Individual Plans, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum experience required:

  • 1 - 3 years
  • graduate degree
  • other - Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Other knowledge, skills, and certifications required:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field and be recognized as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience or training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required by state
  • Licensure and other requirements as required by state
