Job Summary:
The Department of Consumer Science is hiring lecturer positions for the Fall 2026 semester in the Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies (CBMS) undergraduate program. The CBMS program blends marketing, entrepreneurship, merchandising, and product development to enhance consumers' day-to-day lives.
The lecturer will teach one or more sections of CNSR SCI 201: Consumer Insights or related courses. The CNSR SCI 201 course provides students with basic training in quantitative data analysis, with an emphasis on descriptive and inferential statistics with consumer research applications.
The open sections of CNSR SCI 201 will be taught in an in-person format as follows:
- Section 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 AM-10:45 AM
- Section 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 AM-12:15 PM
This position is part-time between 33.3% - 50%. The FTE is based on the number of classes taught. This is a terminal position from August 17, 2026 - December 30, 2026. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
Department: Consumer Science Department
Compensation: Expected full-time salary of $53,025 for a 9-month basis. Prorated based on amount of time worked. Final salary will be determined at time of hire.

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse community
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
- Industry experience and knowledge of the subject matter
- Basic computer skill proficiency (knowledge of learning management systems e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, etc)
- At least two years of successful teaching experience at the college level
Education: Master's degree in a related field at least one level above the level of instruction, or otherwise approved as qualified by the Dean.
