General Description:

The Practice Manager has overall responsibility for functions relating to a specific technical practice (e.g. Service Management, Network, Data Center, Cloud, InfoSec, etc….). This responsibility is inclusive of the oversight of personnel, tools (current and proposed), and vendor relationships. The Practice Manager will work with clients and partners in our Delivery, Sales, Sales Support, Marketing and other Practices to improve our existing products, identify new or missing offerings, rapidly correct gaps and better market our offerings for maximum impact. The Practice Manager is responsible for supporting and in some cases managing specific practice based services that generate consulting revenue ranging from$10M to $25M annually. Occasional travel might be required.

Essential Functions:

• Practice Management

• Leverage TEKsystems Global Services’ strengths and core competencies to develop foundational set of services.

• Work in conjunction with Sales and Marketing in light of market trends to derive an optimal portfolio of productized and/or vertical offerings.

• Oversee the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects and initiatives.

• Monitor project health and reviews deliverables across projects.

• Industry Understanding

• Responsible for the evaluation and potential redesign of practice offerings.

• Development and design solutions for premise-based as well as geographically-distributed (off-shore) delivery models.

• Development of relatively simple, yet thorough messaging around Practice offerings; their fit with our other offerings, the competitive landscape, target client profile, value proposition and differentiation from competitors.

• Persistent education and research on relevant industry benchmarks based on size and scale.

• Develop systems to measure our performance against industry standards and clearly articulate our successes and challenges.

• Financial Management

• Manage to revenue goals set for practice.

• Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization for practice.

• Set expectations regarding revenue and profitability projections.

• Business Development

• Work in conjunction with our Sales team on product development and sales support.

• Grow long-term relationships with clients and capitalize on partnership opportunities.

• Provide other Practices, Solution Executives (SE’s), Sales team and Project Management Organization (PMO) ongoing updates on relevant services.

• Identify and deliver speaking engagements within practice domain.

• Communication:

• Serve as key participant in team and client meetings.

• Raise our visibility through involvement in local and national industry organizations

• Confronts issues openly and quickly.

• Effectively communicate relevant project/practice information to superiors and peers in other practices.

• Tactfully communicate sensitive information.

• Handle difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual.

• Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with vendors/partners; while maintaining proper control.

• Manage vendors to service level agreements (SLAs).

• Qualify and select appropriate vendors based on strategic objectives.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree in a related field, MS preferred.

Work Experience

15+ years project management leadership experience in an IT consulting service provider environment.

Program management experience (i.e., able to manage a portfolio of projects concurrently).

Practice-centric experience required (e.g., Application Management, Data Management, QA or Application Development experience).

Consulting business development experience preferred.

Proposal and/or Statement of Work development experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred not required.

Six Sigma or Lean (Process Management) preferred not required.

ITIL (Process Management) preferred not required.

Experience in a Professional Services organization.

Experience in smaller scale consulting and assessment focused delivery.

High degree of confidence and efficacy in hands-on executive presentation (C-suite) and preparation.

Experience working with and creating strong relationships with India and North America based employees/teams.

Project Management experience (understands the importance of control).

Process Management experience

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
