As a Consultant Histopathologist, your daily responsibilities include examining tissue samples under the microscope, producing formal diagnostic reports, and participating in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to discuss patient cases. You may also supervise or mentor junior doctors, review complex or unusual findings, and contribute to departmental audits and quality control initiatives. The role frequently involves close collaboration with surgeons, oncologists, and laboratory staff to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient management. Beyond diagnostics, you might also engage in research, teaching, or help develop best practice protocols within your department.
