Key Responsibilities of this Position Include:

·          Attend pre‐bid meetings, conduct site visits, review site access, analyze project scope, existing utilities, soil conditions, and potential risks.

·         Review project designs, identify constructability issues, and develop practical solutions in collaboration with project management.

·         Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and indirect costs.

·         Develop unit pricing using historical data, vendor quotes, and an understanding of field productivity.

·         Manage subcontractor outreach, issue ITBs, evaluate proposals, and ensure complete bid coverage.

·         Analyze material specifications, lead times, and schedule feasibility; recommend cost‐effective alternatives.

·         Prepare clear, comprehensive proposals outlining scope, assumptions, and clarifications.

·         Review commercial terms, coordinate safety considerations, and organize project files for handoff.

·         Support post‐award activities including budgets, schedule of values, handover packages, and change‐order pricing.

·         Provide ongoing support to project managers and operations teams regarding scope, budget, and bid intent.

·         Assist management in improving estimating systems, processes, and service‐work procedures.

·         Contribute to the continued growth and development of Firmin Construction and its team members.

Required Qualifications:

·         Team‐oriented, goal‐driven mindset with strong communication skills

·         Detail‐focused and able to manage multiple projects in a fast‐paced environment

·         Strong critical‐thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

·          Strong technical writing skills for proposal development

·         3+ years of estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction

·         Experience estimating building and civil construction

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and on‐screen takeoff software
