Job description

Summary

Hold a TS clearance and a background in security? We are looking for a Construction Surveillance Technician to join our team in DC! The Construction Surveillance Technician will observe non-cleared construction workers for any intrusion of hostile or non-permitted materials into a federal government construction project.

*This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration based on project and operational requirements. *

Responsibilities

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Actively watch and escort non-cleared construction workers
  • Deny introduction of prohibited materials such as explosives, weapons, electronic devices, or other items as specified by the Accrediting Official (AO) or designee
  • Conduct random inspections of all site areas and bags to ensure no prohibited materials have been brought onto the site
  • Keep daily logs, photos, and writing incident reports as needed
  • Report all anomalies and incidents of counterintelligence nature
  • Handle various other duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Top Secret Clearance required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance countermeasures, industrial or government security involving counterintelligence.
  • DOS (SE-630) Construction Surveillance Technician certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledgeable of construction disciplines, structural designs and complexities.
  • Able to work a consistent full-time or part-time guard schedule.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be able to work workdays and most weekends.ย 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of all construction disciplines, to include civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principals.
  • Shall be capable of reading and analyzing designs and blueprints, and recognizing the architects intended use.
  • Shall be capable of analyzing designs and structural complexities, which are intended to mask an ulterior purpose not intended by the architect.
  • Shall have knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, construction principles, and the types of devices used by hostile and friendly intelligence services for the purpose of clandestine surveillance.
  • Ability to become thoroughly knowledgeable of the customerโ€™s security procedures and the level of security required in various parts of each facility under construction.
  • Must be able to write detailed reports in English and complete the analyses of issues, findings, and security situations which require staff action.
  • Shall be capable of independent decision making, possess a high degree of individual initiative and be able to function with minimal supervision.
