Job Title: Project Manager – Drywall and Commercial Construction

Job Description

This role leads drywall-focused construction projects from planning through completion, with a strong emphasis on doors, frames, hardware, and drywall installation. The Project Manager oversees commercial and federal projects, including data centers, ensuring work meets quality, schedule, and budget expectations while coordinating closely with field teams and general contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage drywall projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution, from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Oversee and coordinate drywall installation activities, including hanging and finishing, to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
  • Manage all aspects of doors, frames, and hardware installation within assigned projects, ensuring proper integration with drywall and rough carpentry scopes.
  • Direct and support project teams, including field staff and assistant project managers, to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated project delivery.
  • Collaborate with prime general contractors and other subcontractors to align schedules, resolve conflicts, and maintain smooth project workflows.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and proactively address issues that may impact schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure scope clarity and compliance with commercial and federal project requirements.
  • Coordinate self-performed work across multiple trades, including demolition, drywall, rough carpentry, doors/frames/hardware, and painting and wallcovering, as applicable to each project.
  • Ensure that all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements, particularly for data center and federal projects.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and changes.
  • Support the transition of projects from construction to permanent operations, including punch lists, inspections, and final documentation.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement on all job sites.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of hands-on drywall experience, including hanging and finishing.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in construction.
  • Proficiency in doors, frames, and hardware installation within commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and best practices.
  • Extensive experience working on data centers and federal construction projects.
  • Experience delivering commercial and/or federal construction projects as a subcontractor.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple trades, including drywall, rough carpentry, and doors/frames/hardware.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with general contractors and project teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
