Job Summary
A Trainee in Sales is an entry-level position where individuals learn about sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, and company policies. They shadow experienced sales professionals, participate in training programs, and gradually take on sales responsibilities to develop their skills and knowledge in the field. The trainee may assist with sales presentations, customer inquiries, and order processing while receiving guidance and mentorship from senior sales staff.
Essential Functions
• Opportunity to rotate through temporary assignments including Quality Control, Operations, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and other support areas. This will allow you to build a strong understanding of our industry, the materials we offer, our sales approach, territory management, the daily tasks of various departments, and the crucial role of teamwork.
• Develop essential skills in building and maintaining customer relationships through sales, service, and accounts receivable management.
• Contribute to improving the profitability of our construction aggregates production and sales.
• Growing and maintaining your assigned accounts.
• Ensuring we meet our objectives for sales volume, market share, product distribution, space allocation, and customer service.
• Learning to effectively resolve customer issues related to materials or trucking will be key to ensuring their satisfaction and the delivery of our high-quality products.
• Proactively identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities to maximize our market presence. This requires a continuous review of evolving customer and market needs, with a dedicated effort to develop new markets and secure new customers.
• Preparing regular status reports that highlight territory trends, upcoming events, potential deals, follow-up actions, key developments and keep Sales Department updated with any concerns of field activities.
• Collaboration with the sales team.
• Driving revenue and increasing market share by helping to develop and implement a strategic market plan for your assigned territory.

• Must be familiar with pricing and marketing principles and be ability to contribute to business planning.
• Proficiency in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Gmail, and up-to-date sales systems such as MOBILESales, APEX quote-to-cash, and Oracle/Vulcan X, is necessary to analyze and leverage sales opportunities.
